Amy Cheng

Amy Cheng was born in Taiwan. She was raised in Brazil, Oklahoma and Texas. She received her BFA degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her MFA degree from Hunter College. She is an Associate Professor of Studio Art at the State University of New York at New Paltz. She has received public art commissions from the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs Percent for Art Program. She has been awarded two painting fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts and a travel grant to China from Arts International. She has held residencies at Fundacion Valparaiso in Spain, the Millay Colony for the Arts, Macdowell Colony and Yaddo. Her work is in private and corporate collections such as Hewlett-Packard and Wyeth Pharmaceuticals.
